Black Rock Farm is a small private barn specializing in hunter-jumper and equitation training, showing, imports and sales.

Located in beautiful northeastern Connecticut, we pride ourselves in horse-led development, which starts by taking meticulous care of each horse that comes into our program.

We believe in training that accepts each horse as an individual with specific needs, which allows them to excel physically, mentally, and emotionally.

At Black Rock Farm, horses and riders grow and prosper through personalized programs tailored to their individual needs. So whether you’re just starting out – or you’ve spent years in the show ring – we can work together to build a program that’s right for you and your equine partner.

From balanced nutrition and daily grooming, to quality farrier and bodywork, we take immense pride in ensuring the best care and training for your horse.

Our Facility

Located on 114 scenic acres tucked into the “Quiet Corner” of Putnam Connecticut, Black Rock Farm feels like a true equestrian getaway. Our facility includes an 8-stall barn, an 80x160 outdoor arena with jumps, a round pen, and nine paddocks – along with extensive wooded trails and open fields for hacking and leisure rides. Our horses enjoy full-day turnout when the New England weather permits, and they thrive in a very horse-centered environment.
